The Children's Boating Lake
The abandoned children's boating lake was created in the early 1920s on the site of a natural pool in The Cranbrook previously used as a cattle pond. Model boats no longer being a childhood pastime, the pond and its surroundings have become drab, dilapidated and rather bleak.
Valentines Park Conservationists believe there is an opportunity to redevelop this area for the benefit of wildlife and at the same time create a unique educational resource for the borough. We are looking for people with skills and expertise in environmental assessment and planning and teaching environmental matters to act as advisors and consultants for this work.
